Understanding the Impact of Unconscious Bias
Current cognitive science research indicates that, despite our best intentions, we all harbor implicit biases which impact our behavior toward others. How do these biases affect our work as attorneys or mediators? Does the gender or race of a judge impact the outcome of the court process? This program addresses these questions and invites you to explore your internal assumptions and external practices when litigating multi-cultural disputes. This program presents recent research on implicit bias and utilizes interactive exercises to illustrate the commonality of these biases and assumptions.
