Celebrating the Life of Judge Faye D’Opal

Dear MCWL Community,

Marin County Women Lawyers invites you to join members of the Marin legal community in honoring and celebrating the life of the Honorable Judge Faye D’Opal.

Judge D’Opal was elected to the Marin County Superior Court bench in 2004 and quickly became widely respected for her unwavering commitment to justice. She served as a role model for the LGBTQ+ community and a steadfast advocate for the involvement of women and minorities in the legal system. Her career extended far beyond the courtroom. Judge D’Opal dedicated her life to public service, including work with the Peace Corps, Legal Aid of Marin, Marin Abused Women’s Services, the Marin National Women’s Political Caucus, the San Francisco YMCA, and the Marin Community Foundation. Additionally, Judge D’Opal was a proud MCWL board member since 1988 and treasurer from 1995-1998. Her impact on the legal profession and the broader community will continue to be felt for generations to come.

A memorial service celebrating Judge D’Opal’s life will be held on:
